JMV Woodworks Ltd, a custom cabinet and millwork company that has been producing a high level of product since 1994 is looking to add to our already experienced and knowledgeable team. We are looking to add individuals who have already been in the cabinet making industry and have a good understanding of the cabinet making field.

We are looking for eager and self-motivated experienced individuals looking to bring their expertise to a growing company. We are a diverse company doing work mainly in the lower mainland. Our list of work we do includes all types of tenant improvements in commercial spaces specializing in dental offices as well as custom homes and spec homes. Our website has a variety of examples of past projects.

We're currently seeking team members for the following roles:

Cabinetmaker Role:
We have two position's available working with our custom millwork department. Looking for an experienced journeyman with a minimum of 7 years’ experience to join our commercial guys building custom millwork. Also looking for someone who wants to start their woodworking career and be trained in house by our experienced team and if interested in doing the 4 year apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities and expectations for journeyman position:
• A minimum of 5-10 year’s working in the trade of experience is required.
• Be able to use tables saws, all hand tools, planer, jointer, sanders etc. without issue.
• Ability to read detailed Autocad drawings.
• Standard job duties would include:
- Building reception desks, counter tops, custom ceiling details, wall details, benches, custom wall panels, custom cabinets and solid surface work all according to Autocad plans provided with all JMV shop equipment.
• Be able to work independently and with our existing team members.
• Learn our systems in place and safety protocols.
• Steel toe shoes are required.
• Standard hours are 7-3:30 Monday to Friday.
• Positive attitude, ability to work well with others, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn new things.
• Permanent and full-time position offered that can start right away.

Responsibilities and expectations for apprentice position:
• Ideal candidate to have a year or two of experience working in the trade
• Be able to use or willing to learn on tables saws, all hand tools, planer, jointer, sanders etc. without issue.
• Willing to learn or already have experience in reading detailed Autocad drawings.
• Be able to work independently and with our existing team members.
• Learn our systems in place and safety protocols.
• Steel toe shoes are required.
• Standard hours are 7-3:30 Monday to Friday.
• Positive attitude, ability to work well with others, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn new things.
• Permanent and full-time position offered that can start right away.

The Project Management Role:
We are looking for eager and self-motivated experienced individuals looking to bring their expertise to a growing company. We are a diverse company doing work mainly in the lower mainland. Our list of work we do includes all types of tenant improvements in commercial spaces specializing in dental offices as well as custom homes and spec homes. Our website has a variety of examples of past projects. Applicant will be required to quote, measure, draw in AutoCAD and run sites through the install process.

Requirements:
- Ideal candidate to have a very good knowledge of the cabinet making field
- Past experience in project managing and drawing in AutoCAD is a must
- Excellent communication & telephone skills.
- The ability to produce / edit AutoCAD drawings
- Strong computer/typing skills MS Office programs including Word and Excel.
- An interest in longer term employment
- Valid driver’s license


 The Drafting Role:
- Ideal candidate to have a very good knowledge of the cabinet making field as well as installation of cabinetry and millwork.
- Past experience in cabinet programming would be ideal but training is available.
- The ability to produce / edit AutoCAD drawings, understanding of or willingness to learn Mozaik.
- Strong computer/typing skills MS Office programs including Word and Excel.
- An interest in longer term employment.
- Work together with shop foreman to constantly improve our systems, machining and construction to improve quality and efficiency.
- Be able to work with in JMV's standard's but also to adapt to very custom designs as well
This is a full time position and benefits are available after 6 month trial period

Cabinet Installer Role:
Applicant must have valid driver’s license, clean driving abstract, MUST be punctual and willing to leave some early morning’s, able to work well with others and have a positive attitude. Position will require lifting all types of cabinets and millwork all day 5 days a week in the lower mainland. Along with installing commercial and Residential projects applicant must be willing to do service work as well.We will only review resumes from applicants whom have previous Installing experience HOWEVER if you are working in a shop and have minimum 10 years cabinet shop experience and want to make the jump to be an installer training could be provided

Applicant required to be:
- Punctual, reliable and organized
- Self-motivated and work well with others under direction
- Ability and a solid knowledge of all tools required to install cabinets
- Supply a drivers abstract
- Wear work boots, vest and hard hat when required

JMV facility:
Our office and production plant is located in Abbotsford BC. Our shop is a 20,000 sq ft facility with a paperless system and assembly line along with CNC equipment and many very skilled team members that produce our product. Our offices are at the front of our building and each employee has their own newly updated office.
